In registering and permitting my child / charge to attend Quest Adventure Camps/Quest Language Studies Programs, I, the undersigned parent, guardian or other duly authorized party, hereby agree as follows:

  1. Activity Authorization / Hold Harmless Agreement: I authorize him/her to participate, without restriction, in all school trips and activities organized by Quest Language Studies (this includes the activity itself and all transportation whether by public transit, chartered bus or other approved vehicle) for the Quest Language Studies (hereafter Quest) Program he/she is enrolled in.

    I certify that participant is in good health and able to participate in the program activities. I understand that participation in activities involves a certain degree of risk. I have carefully considered the risk involved and have given consent for my child to participate in the activities. I understand that participation in the activity requires participants to abide by applicable rules and standards of conduct. I release Quest, its representatives, the activity coordinators, and all employees, volunteers, related parties, or other organizations associated with the activities from any and all claims or liability arising out of this participation.

    In case of emergency involving my child, I understand every effort will be made to contact me. In the event I cannot be reached, I hereby give my permission to the medical provider selected by the adult leader in charge to secure proper treatment, including hospitalization, anesthesia, surgery, or injections of medication for my child. Medical providers are authorized to disclose to the adult in charge examination findings, test results, and treatment provided for purposes of medical evaluation of the participant, follow-up and communication with the participant’s parents or guardian, and/or determination of the participant’s ability to continue in the program of activities.

  2. Loss/Theft: I understand and agree that Quest is not responsible for any loss or theft of participants’ belongings or money. Parents/guardians will be responsible for reimbursement of any willful destruction to site and/or equipment, including graffiti, incurred as a result of their child’s actions.
  3. Program Removal: I understand and agree that intentional participant behavior that puts the participant or others at physical or emotional risk may result immediate dismissal from the program. In addition, possession of alcohol, weapons, tobacco products and illegal or harmful substances will result in immediate dismissal from program. Any expenses incurred because of program dismissal will be the responsibility of the participant / parent / guardian. No refund will be given to campers leaving camp prior to the end of the session due to disciplinary action.
  4. Promotional Material Policy: I understand and agree that Quest reserves the right and permission to publish, reproduce, distribute and /or otherwise use any still or moving photograph, for such purposes and with such frequency as it shall determine in its sole discretion without further compensation or consideration to me and without further authorization by me for, as yet, unnamed video or photographic projects (including promotion, marketing and social media) which shall constitute the sole property of Quest. Quest and its representatives shall be released from and against any and all liability resulting from its use of the photos or related to my use of the product.

Code of Conduct

General Conduct:
All students at Quest are expected to conduct themselves properly and at all times be respectful to teachers, staff, fellow students, host families/residence staff (as applicable) and the property of the school and that of their accommodation providers. Foul language, harassment, discrimination, disrespect, racism, disregard of rules and those in authority will not be tolerated – ZERO TOLERANCE, no second chance, no excuse.

Students will be held financially and legally responsible for any damage/harm caused by them, through intention or negligence, to properties or persons.

The age of majority in the province of Ontario is 19. No one under the age of 19 is allowed to purchase or partake in the consumption of tobacco or alcohol in Ontario. Notwithstanding the age of majority, the use/consumption or provision to others of any kind of legal or illegal drug/substance (alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, etc.) is strictly forbidden at any-time and at anyplace during the program.

Students are expected to conduct themselves safely in accordance with high and respectable standards of behaviour. Reckless or dangerous behavior will not be tolerated. Any violation of Canadian laws pertaining to criminal activity (theft, bodily harm, illegal substances, etc.) will be reported to and handled by the police. This may result in fines, jail sentence and or deportation.

Classes:
  1. Classes are not an option. Attendance is mandatory at all times. Students who fail to attend classes will not be issued a certificate of studies and may be expelled from the program.
  2. All students must be on time for class.
  3. Students are expected to be prepared for class and to actively participate in class.
  4. Food and drink are not allowed during class.
  5. Mobile phones use is not allowed during class unless specifically permitted by the instructor.
  6. English is the only language permitted on school property both in and out of class.

Activities:
  1. Attendance to planned activities is mandatory.
  2. Students must be on time for all activities.
  3. Students must follow the directions of the activity coordinator at all times.

Accommodation:
  1. Students must abide at all times by the rules of their accommodation providers, and the “Accommodation’s Guidelines” document provided by the school, be it in residence or homestay.
  2. Students must respect the property of their accommodation providers and will be held accountable for all intentional or negligent actions resulting in damages to property or persons.
  3. Curfews times (22:00 hours) are not suggestions. They are mandatory and must be strictly followed.
  4. Student’s not staying in residence are NEVER allowed in the residence building.

Sanctions:
Infractions of this code of conduct will result, at the school discretion, in any of the following sanctions:
  1. Verbal / written warning.
  2. Extra assignments.
  3. Report to parents.
  4. Loss of privileges (computer use, use of lockers, withdrawal from activities, etc.).
  5. Removal/barred from class.
  6. Removal from school or activity and confined to accommodation.
  7. Police report if actions are criminal.
  8. Expulsion – in severe cases only. In case of expulsion, student/student’s family will be responsible for the cost of the student returning to their home country early. There will be no compensation for any part of the program. Student will responsible for all costs arising from their expulsion.
